In regards to the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) that are coming up: Take your time off as you wish. Your supervisor must approve the time off, and you are "available" unless you tell them otherwise. The requirements to receive Holiday Pay are: (1) Compensation for service paid by the Carrier is credited, or (2) Such employee is available for service. This means you must work (compensated service) the day before the holiday and the day after. If you are 'unavailable' the day before and the day after because you were on vacation or on a personal day, the qualifying day(s) are the work day before and after your scheduled time off. Do Not take a sick day before or after your scheduled time off around the holidays as there could be an issue with Holiday pay. If there are any issues, let me know.
